"I have been having a very bad last couple of weeks and I have generally been in a bad mood, that is until I received my package today filled with books (don't worry I'll share) and it literally allowed me to escape from the madness for a little while.
"You have just raised one soldiers morale. The author that I had asked to receive is actually from my hometown and writes about it in vivid details so it is almost like I'm back home."
Some servicemen are unable to release their addresses for general posting and access needs to be restricted. Such individual and group requests requiring "OpSec" (Operational Security) are listed here.
Feel free to send just a little bit to the address given and it will make a big difference as it adds up. Thanks!
ATTENTION TROOPS! DO NOT put your address in any note you post here! This forum is open to the internet and is not secure! Please send your address via Personal Message or e-mail to the member offering you a book.

Friends of the Library Directory Listing
List of libraries that will take books from people and send them to the troops.
Are you a member with a "Friends of the Library" type organization? If so, is your "Friends" group willing to take books from people who want to donate to BFS but not really wanting to get more involved?
We could tell such people to go to your library and
drop their books there. Please post below with your
Library name and location of the drop box, and other
details such as phone number or hours when drops
are allowed.
Thanks!
Soldiers, Sailors and Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan have been generously flying flags we've sent them for us to use in raising funds.
All the flags are high-quality, as illustrated in the picture at right and made in America, and come with a certificate signed by the outfit that the flag has been flown. We have several from 2010.
We are asking $45 ($39 plus $6 shipping -- include $5 more for priority shipping) for each to help with fundraising.
Actual Flag-Flying ceremony, Iraq, from a supportive LT in 2007.
Books For Soldiers is a 501(c)(3) charity, recognized by the IRS and operated by the Order of the Red Grail, a non-denominational, interfaith outreach ministry.
